10 Facts About Coke Studio
Coke studio has brought some of the best musical talents
together on single platform. The collaborations in this are just pure musical
magic. Coke studio Pakistan began in 2008 and it has its new session every year
since then. Right now it’s in his 10th year. So let’s take a look at
some facts.
1) The concept
was created back in 2008 by Coca-Cola Company. The show features musical artist
that are already established as well as upcoming artists. Shows concept was
adopted by Rohail Hyatt from band Vital signs. The show was also produced by
his wife Amber Hyatt as well as some other band members. From there it was an
immediate success.
2) When you
watch any of the performances, all of the things are so well choreographed and
all of that is done live in real time.
3) In 2016
Coke Studio Pakistan had 192 members. Their team consists of artists,
producers, sound technicians as well as some other supporting staff.
4) The whole
concept behind Coke Studio is to bring traditional South Asian music which is
played by instruments like flutes and other stuff like that and mix with modern
music like electronic guitars. Surprisingly the results have always been
amazing. Alone in season 9, they used a total of 36 different instruments.
5) Now, this
is a thing you gamers will appreciate. If you were too young to remember the
gaming company called Atari, launched in 1972. Between 2004 and 2011 Atari
released Atari Flashback which allowed people to play classic Atari games.
That’s what the staff does a lot in its free time. It is
very good as because it actually sort of matches with the theme of the show to
mix the old with the new.
6) In a
country as diverse as Pakistan where people speak different languages. Artists
from different provinces of Pakistan perform songs which represent where they
come from.
7) In Coke Studio
more than 57 bands and artists have performed and some of them have performed
more than once. The first season had a live audience that witnessed performances
from artist and bands such as Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Strings, Ali Azmat and Ali
Zafar.
8) It's really hard to decide when all the performances are just word class but there's someone that ends up
at the top. In Coke Studio that person is Atif Aslam his song Tajder-e-Haram
had more than 10 million views in all of Coke Studio library.
9) Even though
there are many conflicts between Pakistan and India but Coke Studio is equally
popular in India as well with 1.9 million likes
on its Facebook page only from India. Due to its popularity, India also launched its Indian version of Coke Studio. Its
Middle-Eastern version was also launched.
10) Let’s

of Coke Studio. What started as a TV experiment in Pakistan has turned into a
global phenomenon. People from all over the world have responded to Coke Studio. On the tenth anniversary of the show in 2017, the General Manager of
Coca-Cola Pakistan & Afghanistan Rizwan U. Khan stated,
"We have come a long way since we
embarked on this challenging journey a decade ago. Looking back, we feel
greatly humbled that Coke Studio has been able to achieve so much, in
terms of bringing virtually unknown or little known musicians into the national
limelight, re-introducing music genres like qawwali and Sufi music to the youth of Pakistan, continuing to stay true to the
promise of producing quality fusion of music and practically playing an
important role in reviving the music industry of Pakistan."
